The PicoWay® laser delivers ultra-short pulses of energy that target tattoo ink beneath the skin. The ink is broken into tiny particles, which are then naturally eliminated by the body over time. Tattoo ink rests below the skin surface. PicoWay laser targets the ink below the skin. The laser shatters the ink into minuscule particles
Most clients describe the sensation as similar to a rubber band snapping against the skin. Discomfort varies depending on the tattoo location and individual pain tolerance. We use cooling measures to maximize comfort during treatment.
Many tattoo colors can be treated with the PicoWay® laser. Some colors may respond more quickly than others. During your consultation, we will discuss realistic expectations for your specific tattoo.
The number of treatments varies depending on several factors, including tattoo size, ink color, age of the tattoo, depth of ink, location on the body, and individual healing response. Most tattoos require multiple treatments. Depends on each individual goal fading for cover up or complete removal.
Treatments are spaced several weeks apart to allow the body time to clear fragmented ink particles and for the skin to heal. This typically takes between 8-16 weeks.
When performed properly and with appropriate aftercare, laser tattoo removal has a low risk of scarring. Existing scar tissue within a tattoo may still remain after the ink is removed.
